____________

My daughter, Anita, owns Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. Some of you may be thinking, "I didn't know there were such a thing as dwarf goats, much less from Nigeria." But they are indeed true miniature dairy goats, each standing about 24 inches tall. I have enjoyed helping her and my son-in-law, Eddie, build their barn and take care of these unique creatures.

In the picture above you'll notice Anita also has some chickens... four different kinds in fact: Delaware, Black Australorp, Partridge Plymouth Rock and Salmon Favorelle.

The goats are free-range fed, which is safer and healthier. For milking the goats, Anita stands them on a table with their heads restrained, often giving them something to eat to keep them occupied. Then it's as easy as taking candy from a baby.

Some people have asked me why Anita raises goats.

She has said, "I'm doing it for purely selfish reasons: to provide healthier, higher quality food for Eddie and me, and to help me spend my time outside, moving about - being active. Jesus says occupy untill I come. Also, I love animals and enjoy taking care of them, so it's kind of a hobby too."

She looks well to the ways of her household,
and does not eat the bread of idleness.” Proverbs 31:27
